The reasons for this painting get a little preachy. It starts with the idea that in our (human) primitive times we revered Nature - giving us our first religion-like thoughts. I think, making us reasonable respectful people. Then we over thought the idea of religion and over-organized it. We now abuse Nature on a regular basis and go to church asking for forgiveness. I think that’s too bad. I long for those simpler times - in terms of respect for the planet. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to go back to those hard times but I think we could do a far better job with the “respect the planet” part of the idea.
