I did this painting because every time I drive by this feed store in this quaint little hamlet of Van Hornesville I said I wanted to do a painting of it. I finally did, after about 2-3 years. The doors and windows that are open - are open all day each day, regardless of the weather - hardy folks. The construction of this building is outstanding. Limestone of varying sizes laid neatly in rows, singly and doubles up to match other sized stones create a marvel of talented technique. I imagine this building is many years old - I don't know how old, sadly.
