This painting points to the fact that we need to - both - see our rivers, we also want "free" electricity. In a less exciting season than spring, the river is usually hidden behind the dam and we never see the water going down the pipes to create electricity. I the spring when there is more water than we can use, we let it fall away - creating a spectacle of rushing water - we still don't see the creation of electrical power but I think we can feel it.
