This painting has nothing, at all, to do with the paintings I am working of for the grant I got from L.A.R.A.C. This is me taking a break from that work. All of the detail within Finch Paper mill was beginning to get to me. The paintings I'm doing for the grant are so time consuming because of their complexity and detail. These intricate paintings take, on average, a month and more to complete. This painting, by comparison, took only 20 days from beginning to end. The only complicated part of this one is the power lines - what goes to where. I work from photos but they do not always show the information you need when you get to a point where the information is lost in the shadows. I also took massive liberties with the composition of this one - ignoring the photo - then getting into trouble with the information - my own fault.
