I tried to find a different vantage point from which to look at a favorite subject of mine - the cement plant 4 miles from my house. This is The Iron Clad Cement company in Glens falls NY. There are 2 big factories in my area - they are near each other. The other factory is Finch Pruyn - they make high quality paper. Both plants emit smoke/steam, whatever. I guess they both adhere to the EPA guides for pollution - so the painting is not about that - it is about the whole scene with the plumes of vapor - like the previous paintings I have done. I entered this painting into a contest for artists over 60 - I qualified, sadly (because that makes me seem old). It won a spot in the magazine that sponsored the contest - The Artist's Magazine (Feb.2010). I think I should keep this one - so it is not for sale.
