This painting is very different for me. It wasn't an accident, I did it on purpose. I got an insight, after a life drawing session - something happened inside my brain thing and I sketched a very small image (this image) after I got home. The sketch was very small about 2 inches wide. I remained faithful to that image in the enlargement. I did change the land - about 5 times, until I found a comfortable composition that tied the land to her. In the original thought, she was just going to be the mountains - then I saw the potential of planted farmland being suckled by Mother Nature. This photo, as all photos of my work, is close to the painting but different enough for me to say something about it - she looks "peachier", not quite so pink. It is very close but if you saw the original, you could detect the difference. I am trying different approaches to my art, lately, in an effort to move forward. This painting has taken me out of my comfort zone, as have some few others that I have done recently. I will keep doing that until I find out what my art is all about.
