Norway Maple

This bright yellow Norway Maple tree, which is in my back yard, caught my eye one day with the bright late afternoon afternoon sun of November streaming through it, backlighting it. I wasn’t, necessarily in the mood for a tree painting but this just popped up in my psyche and I had a readymade canvas so I just went to work on it. I was trying to get a little looser with the feel of my painting and I was not successful but for the area of the leaves. There is not a lot of detail in the leaves because they all run together in the brightness of the sun and loose their identity. On the other hand, for me, this is much looser. I was looking for the light and think I found it.
