It's Not a Choice
This image is taken from my back yard. I have these small bushes growing there and I wanted to use their arrangement in a painting. The green plant and the variegated yellow plant are in the same family - Euonymus. There are a zillion kinds of Euonymus with different shaped leaves and different colors. My point in using these two plants is to show that many natural plants and animals, ourselves included have quite different looks and proclivities yet we are still fundamentally the same creatures, as they are essentially the same plant. We must learn to live alongside our friends and relatives without regard for the differences among us. Those differences highlight the strengths of our kind. They do not create an either/or situation where one must change to suit the other. We need to learn to live alongside each other, both reaching for the sun, sharing the sun.
