Hydra

This painting was done as a challenge to my right hand. I started it as my hand was healing from a carpal tunnel operation. I painted it from a very busy photograph of the tree and its' background. I isolated the tree and just focused on the limb growth - searching for the sun (perhaps another word for that). It seems to me that there are no rules for limb growth, other than grow out and up and survive in the competition, if you can. It is kind of like painting. This photo of the painting shows more of a color change at the top than I can perceive with my eye, looking at the real painting.
