When I painted this one I was in a "caveman" mode. I was thinking - what is the difference between our need for an occasional flame and the caveman's need for flame on a daily basis. How similar are the tools, the usage and the general size of the fire kit. The caveman had a thing that made sparks and he aimed it at some fuel and got a fire started. Our fire kit is only different in that it has its' own fuel source - it is remarkably similar to the situation of 20,000 years ago.
