The Nature of Light: Fire and Ice
This is the 4th in a series I started a couple of years ago. I take small aluminum foil pieces and shape them so they catch light in different ways while still being true to the nature of the way light works. I place different sources of light on the scene and then reflect colored light from colored cards, bouncing the light off the card onto the foil and then back into the lens of the camera. It is all very random and it really breaks up the surfaces of the foil. Foreground and background join and then separate again. Oftentimes they just look like abstract paintings and that is fine...just know they are real.
