This painting is about how important our cars are to us - in this country. It is a huge country and to get from one place to the next, we need some form of transportation. In the cities, we have public transportation and that works well but when your friend gives you a sofa and you want to bring it to your house, the bus seems like it might not work. Besides, we all like our freedom too much. With my own car I can go someplace in the middle of the night or on Sunday morning without waiting for someone else. I can go wherever and whenever I want. Oh, and don't forget how we love to curse the other driver who must be crazy, at the very least. The worst part of car ownership is the purchasing of the fuel for it - that is some of what this painting is about. We are doomed.
